A nice site some 4 miles outside Shrewsbury. There is fishing on site although in my time there I failed to see a fish although the pool adds to the scenic value. I forget if they have a shower block but the dog walk was nice. I particularly remember the dog walk at this site. There were plenty of poo bins and at an entrance/exit to the walk was a poo bin with spade and sign saying please bin it. Just 18 inches from the bin was one of the biggest dog dumps I had ever seen and the dog owner (read anti social moron) was too bloody idle to pick it up. People like that should be banned for life for owning any form of wildlife because they cannot control their own attitudes to others.
o.k. Rant over - hehheh!
Where we were pitched the surface was long concrete roads as if the site was at one time used for military tank storage.
It was at this site one of our Schnauzers took ill and we rang the local vet. She gave us instructions and told us to ring back in the morning, she wasn't interested. It turned out she was an Australian locum.
By 10pm Polly was worse so we packed up in the dark and after ringing our vet made the 52 mile dash back home. Our vet was waiting for us and operated later that morning with his colleague who he called in. Thankfully Polly made a full recovery but our vet told us that he didn't think she would have made it if we waited. We let the Vets Surgery in Shrewsbury know our feelings and our vets comments and after they investigated we got a full apology.

Just to say that we visit this site three or four times a year - the last time we spent three weeks there.
It is a lovely site with lots of birds and wildlife - very quiet.
The site team are really friendly and helpful. Last time we were there, they lent us their ladder so that we could carry out running repairs and fit a Heki rooflight.
It's a fair old trek for us to travel from Somerset to Shrewsbury for short breaks so we try to spend as long as possible on the site each time.
I've never seen anyone catch a fish in the lake but lots of people like to spend their time trying. They had the weeds cleared earlier this year, so it might make the lake easier to fish.
I can't wait for my next visit. |

Well Plotter, my brother lives a mile from the site but that's not the only reason we go there so often.
We really like Shrewsbury and use the Park and Ride a lot. We also like the Sunday market - but most of all, we just love the site. It's so quiet and peaceful there and there's lots of wildlife. |

Some more people have discovered our paradise. It is also going to be open all year round from next year which I know will be useful for Anne to visit her brother. It is magical with snow on the ground. The Club have added more more hard stands on the bottom layer now which should help as it does get very wet sometimes there. Also the lake is supposed to be having some help. The weed is taking over and needs to be controlled. There are some very big fish in there. Not sure whether the huge pike is still there but I do have a photo (if I can find it). The carp are really quite big now as well. I was there when they were put in but I am not saying where from!!!
The wildlife is abundant and in the winter the deer visit from the abbey wood nearby. There are also badgers, squirrels , rabbits, weasels, stoats, moles and loads of birdlife. You could say it is our favourite camp site in England.
There will never be any full facilities on the site but there is a good dish wash room with loads of hot water and 3 deep sinks. Visit and be bewitched by it.[/img]

We arrived at Ebury on Sunday to find that there had been a few changes over the winter.
There are 6 or 8 new hardstandings in the quarry area and the trees have had major surgery. (Probably not before time). The pond has been cleared of weeds and you can actually see some very big fish on the dog-walk side.
I haven't seen any rabbits as yet but it's not surprising as their habitat has been cleared. However, I'm sure they will be back soon. There are still plenty of birds even though some of the trees have been severely lopped back.
I have attached some photos.

Three of the new hardstandings. We are on the top hardstanding with the awning facing to the centre of the quarry. We like this situation. |

It was Sue. The people next to us had to take their awning down!
I'll upload the other pics when we get home.

Hi Anne, You are on one of our favourite spots although its not very good for reception. You need to be looking through the gap. This photo was taken by some friends just before you arrived. I am very jealous of you being there but hopefully we will make it before long. I am progressing, but VERY slowly and getting rather frustrated. It is only 4 weeks so far and I can't drive yet. Its like having my legs taken away. |

I had 3 copies so I deleted one but to be honest I work in the dark and am not really sure what I am doing, Boss. If it has deleted them all it doesn't matter as I have it on Picasa. I did try and put it on directly from Picasa but it wouldn't accept it as it was too large. Still learning and self taught!!!!! |

There are some tutorials with step by step instructions and images to help you in the Forum Help Guides. There's even a tutorial on PixResizer.

Thanks. I can resize on Photobucket but then I just guessed on how to put the photo on and it did work. However I will follow your advice and read the tutorials. I did struggle with the Ebury Hill. photo as it was sent to me by email and I first had to download onto Picasa. I managed it with trial and error and I have a lot to learn. |

Thanks Plotter. The photo is to show where Anne is sited now. Where the big M/V is. The hard stands are new on that side.
Its almost 5 weeks now since my op and progress is slower than I would have liked but at least there have been no setbacks. I am still VERY sore. |
