I mentioned in an earlier post that £9 for a CL was dear - hmmmm - well that was what it said in the C.C. Book. They have put their prices up to ............. wait for it .......... £12.50.
There is no breakdown or add ons regarding the price, it's £12.50 no matter whether you have an awning or not or how many dogs you have. Taking the fact we have 3 dogs and we could walk anywhere, far more than most sites, I think the cost was fair although considering theres no hardstandings it seems expensive. The lady we saw when we booked in at the club house was very friendly.
Would I go again? A most definite yes, the place was lovely.
No sound except the birds and wind rustling in the trees. The whole place is like a nature reserve and the first sound I heard on arrival was a cuckoo. There are two lakes with the usual geese, coots, moorhens and a pair of great crested grebes. I looked up from having my breakfast this morning to see a sparrow hawk watching me from a bush next to our caravan.
There are 40 acres to wander around in, but beware of the fishermen casting their flies. We tended to walk around the lakes in the evening so as not to bother them. You can fish yourself but there is a charge.
A bridlepath immediately next to the pitches is the Wychavon way and was great for taking the dogs for a walk.
Friday and Saturday were lovely, sunny and warm, and it was great, while walking the dogs down the bridleway, seeing the different kinds of butterflies flitting in and out of the shade to a backdrop of cow parsley, vetch, buttercup and hawthorn blossom. Just a pity about the rain yesterday and this morning.
We are already planning to go back with relatives who are caravanners.

That looks a nice one, LB.  Very Happy

I've never thought £9 for a CL is dear.  It does depend on the CL mind you. (Bramcote Mains for example!!   Mad  ) The most we've paid for a CL so far is £9.50 per night.  Most CL's have no additional charges to pay (awning, dogs etc as you state) unlike other camp sites.  I've never understood why some sites charge extra per person over 2 people since they don't take up any more pitch space.  I can understand awning charges I suppose since the use of ground pegs requires maintenance, as do dogs, especially those whose owners don't clear up after them. (Then again, some site owners don't bother either!)  And some sites charge a fee just to have visitors!!   Shocked

Do you know what the deal is with the fishing, LB. Mike is a fly fisherman and although the site is not to far away from us, it would be ideal for a long weekend as he could fish and I could laze around and walk the dogs.
