We spent four nights at this site last week. It has 96 pitches, all level and all hard standing. It's a Caravan Club members only site.
The site is easy to get to, approx one mile from the end of the M55. Take the left hand filter lane at the end of the M55, join the dual carriage way to the next roundabout then take the second exit. The site is on the left in approx 100 yards. A little care is needed on the final approach to the site entrance as the road narrows a bit.
The site is bordered by fields at the back but by road at the front so there can be some traffic noise. I have never found it to be a problem though. The airport is a few miles down the road and although there can be a few light aircraft and the occasional helicopter flying around during the day I've never heard any air traffic during hours of darkness.
There is one toilet/shower block which is kept very clean as you would expect on a C.C. site.
The middle section of the site is quite open but there are a number of trees at both ends and around the edges. Some of the pitches are separated by hedges either into singles or pairs, more so at both ends rather than the middle.
T.V. reception is good. On previous visits I got a good picture even with the old "flying saucer" ariel on the van roof.
Site security was reviewed and improved a couple of years back following an intrusion by a group of travellers with their vans. There is now two sets of security barriers one of which is only in use between 8pm and 8am.
A small childrens play area is located at one end but is really only suited to younger kids, it's also very close to pitches.
Newspapers can be ordered from the site office. A Tesco super store is only a couple of minutes drive away.
Although Blackpool with its illuminations, shows etc is the main attraction I would recommend a visit to the smaller Lytham and St. Annes. |

| It looks nice Rob although Blackpool is not my favourite destination.Afraid that like many CC sites looks more and more like a car park with very little grass. |

Good report, Rob. Lack of grass doesn't bother us. We're starting to like and prefer hardstandings more and more now. However, we also prefer smaller 5-van sites and hardstandings are rare on these sites. Would still prefer a smaller site but it looks OK nonetheless. |

Great report Rob.
As others have said it would be nice to have a bit more grass around the vans.
The site looks well kept though, clean and tidy. |

It does have quite a strip of grass behind many pitches and the hard standing has proved its worth this year!
The problem we had with that was that on that site they unplugged the mains hook up to mow the grass thus making use of video recorders/Sky+ etc difficult
It is a very nice site and gives access to the Lancashire Coast as well as Blackpool itself
There is also a garden centre nearby that has a car boot at the weekends and serves good reasonably priced meals
It must also be the only CC site with unrestricted views of the B & Q warehouse |

Great report Rob. I see what you mean about the play area being close to the vans. I reckon if a child got some speed up on those swings, they'd be landing on a caravan roof! |
