A largish family site with good shade with all the usual facilities.Set in and around the pine forest that lines the beaches in this area.
It is adjacent to the beach and La Grande Cote beach.Close to La Palmyre with its very well known zoo, equally close is the town of Royan which is worth a visit but it gets busy of an evening, but if you love seafood it is not to be missed. |

Plotter,
This is a site we are seriously considering for next summer. Thinking about going there for approx 12 nights in early July then moving north to Loire valley area for another week or so.
Could you give anymore info please, in particular, size of pitches, cleanliness, ease of access for larger outfit. Any info at all greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Robert |

In my opinion it is positive on all the points you make and it very handy for one of the best beaches in France (IMO)You can see more by visiting their website and by looking at Select Sites.
We are going 1st week of July for one week because we are goin there from 2 weeks in the Dordogne.
What site have you selected in the Loire? |

Thanks Plotter, I have had a look at their website and at Select Sites (that's where I first came across it). It's good to hear from others who have actually been there though. When driving to it did you approach through the town or skirt up north and come in from the top?
The site we are keen on for the second part of our holiday is also with Select Sites -L'Citadelle at Loches
http://www.lacitadelle.com/
Anyone visited there?

Its south of Tours, on the banks of L'Indre. According to the website it is within easy walking distance to the town of Loches, looks good on the website but that's just about all I know of it.

Yes, it's one of Select Sites. I've been intending to phone them for the last few weeks to get an idea of prices.
They seem to have first hand information about the sites they have on their books. They gave me a lot of info last year that they could only have known about from actually visiting the places.

Glad to hear your better half is o.k. now Plotter and yes that was what you call good personalised service, nice to know that some firms do actually think about their customers.
If all goes according to plan we should be on site at Le Puits de L'Auture at the same time, first round at the bar is mine ( a Scotsman offering to buy a round of drinks ! now there's something you don't hear about often )
