This has to be one of the best parks in the country and is a credit to owners Helen and Mark Lowe.
From the moment you arrive you cannot fail to be impressed by the cleanliness of the park and the helpfulness of it's staff , nothing is too much trouble .
On arrival you are shown to your pitch and your caravan is sited for you , pitches are mostly divided by small hedges and both grass and hard standing are available, some have there own water and waste connections .
The toilet and showers consist of a number of self contained cubicles with shower, toilet and washbasin and a number of more conventional type shower cubicles all are immaculately clean.
The park has a small restaurant and bar which serves food most evenings and a Sunday lunch second to none in the area , all are reasonably priced.
Children are catered for with a wonderful play area and for older kid's there are table tennis tables , a pool table and a room with video games and TV .
The park has views of Dartmoor and a walk around the park with it's conservation areas and beautiful flower displays is a treat in itself .
Four legged friends are welcome in fact it is a doggy heaven with a dog walk that has to be seen to be believed and even their own shower! .
Open from March through until Christmas and New Year this park is worth a visit at any time of the year .

Thanks for posting the review and photos Ray. Looks like a very nice site.

Is Ross Park just up the road from Dornafield?

What a lovely site. One to make a note of when we go that way again.

Hi Martin, yes Ross Park is just up the road from Dornafield, but is easier to access as it is just off the main road and not a good distance down a narrow lane, however the drawback of that is that there is a little traffic noise on certain areas of the site but it is not too intrusive.

We drove around this site when we visited Dornafield. I was absolutely gutted we werent staying there. It won practical caravan site of the year this year.

Great review and pics Ray.

I know which of the 2 I would go back to anytime! Ohh I think I might enquire now for May week Laughing

Hi Ian, enquire by all means but I think you will be lucky if you get a pitch for May now, the park is usually booked for peak periods well in advance.
However if you ring and speak to Helen she is very obliging and will do her best to accommodate you, you may be lucky and get a cancellation.

You can fully understand why they are regional winners in Practical caravan when you stay there.
