We loved this site and will be visiting again soon !
Lots of pitches are amongst trees and in their own own wooded clearing which really appealed to us ! We had our own large clearing next to a stream ,surrounded by trees ,it was the best pitch we have ever had!
Staff were really friendly ,and cannot do enough to help ! we were even made a cuppa by the management whilst we were chatting one day The dog walk is a whole forest ! with 2 streams that leads to a miniature railway and beyond ( disused at the mo but is being extended and should be in use by next year )
Beddgelert (pronounced something like Bethgellit we were informed ?) village is very pretty and has plenty of places to eat .There is a walk from the campsite into the village ,avoiding the road and instead going over hills and through woods and fields ,a lovely walk .
Lots and lots of excellent walks nearby for all abilities ,advise buying a walk guide for the area to find the best ones.
The facilities on site are excellent and fit in well with the surroundings too .
I could have summed this campsite up in one word

I did a post on this site sometime ago Skatty but the pics seem to have disappeared. I've now uploaded them so people will be able to see how nice the site was as we described |

The Welsh Highland Railway started running trains to Beddgelert from Caernarvon on April 7. The penultimate section of the line from Beddgelert though the Aberglaslyn Pass to Hafod y Llyn is due to open on May 21.

Probably later in the year when the full line will be open and I can travel the 40 miles from Ffestiniog to Caernarvon (not forgetting to stop off at the station bar in Porthmadog for a pint or three of real ale!).
