This site is surrounded by mountains. The scenery is nice but it does have the usual midge problem like all others in the west highlands.
Kyle of Lochalsh is the nearest for groceries where there's a Co-op. Lots of scenic drives around and Skye, a bit bleak in places, is worth a visit. Nice fish and chips at Portree, probably the only chippy on Skye.
What did surprise me around Kyle, and the Ardmurchan peninsula further south, was the amount of tinkers and their caravans parked up in passing places or lay-bys where 50% of the vans were trashed and abandoned.
If you can tolerate the midges it's a nice area.
The dog walk is outside the gate along the verge of the lane where there's very little traffic.
They do accept tents.
