Why do people have red and white flags on the car, why do people have flags hanging out of there house windows, why do we have to put up with this rubbish for 4 weeks, why did they hold the world cup in south africa. why has so much money been spent on this lot when our troops are fighting with inferior equipment, How come this country and other countries spend so much money on football but not on cancer drugs. Rolling Eyes

And sport is an outlet for so many milions of people, giving entertainment to many by watching or participating [each to their own] and or hope to the millions of people in deprived areas all around the world,or lower classes so to speak in the western world either as an outlet from their troubles, or hope that they could get out of the slums through sporting activities as education offers them little for a bright prosperous future..

When did the government pay for anything to do with the World Cup?
I have one flag on my car which I've had since the last world cup. The flag in my garden cost me 99p from Trago Mills in Cornwall.
The F.A. pays for the squads kit, travel, hotels etc.
The choice of S.Africa was based on the same rules as other venues. Regarding the troops inferior kit we will have to wait and see if S.Africa make a profit and then go, cap in hand, and ask them for a donation Laughing

Not withstanding the feel good factor,and the pride it puts into million too. What about the small matter of the Economy? 10s of thousands get work, slum areas get cleaned up and the Economy gets a large boost....What on earth is Immoral about that......

When you consider how 'Great' our players are, and how much they gey paid for kicking a ball. I would have thought they would win almost everything. Yet they only manage a draw with the USA. The mind boggles, still I dont watch it anyway Laughing

So how can you give an opinion about England not beating The USA, if you don't follow the sport? by all means call it a shite sport, if it does not interest you, but to assume England should have beaten the USA hands down,in a sport you don't follow is illogical..
